"Yoga Chats" Session

What is yoga?

Yoga in Sanskrit means Yolk or to Yolk together.

This means union. This is remembering that everything we see, hear, feel and touch, we are a part of.

Getting on the yogic path..

Asana, the physical aspect of yoga, is only one of the eight components of the Raja Yoga path. It is said that the purpose of yoga postures is to prepare our bodies for stillness, which allows us to sit in meditation without experiencing physical discomfort.

The path of yoga is the path to self realization. It is a practice that can be taken off the mat and applied in our daily lives one small change at a time.

By increasing our awareness, we create space between our thoughts and our actions. We become responsive instead of reactive. This creates opportunity for patience, compassion, appreciation and understanding.

This session is centred around self care and growth through the lens of yoga. It bridges the gap between what fits in a posture (asana) class & the vast knowledge of the yogis and how we can apply it to our every day life.

THE POTENTIAL:

A new perspective on self care

Understand breath & anxiety from a yogic perspective

Cultivate patience, compassion & understanding

Increased self love & appreciation

Develop coping skills
